(2025) A blend of 70% Grenache with Syrah, Rolle and Cinsault using grapes from partner growers and 60% from the estate's owned plots. Very pale, there's less of the tutti-frutti character here as it adopts a more lean and gastronomic stance, with citrus and just a touch of floral red fruits. Though it appears to be bone-dry in the finish, there is a mid-palate richness, fruit sweetness and silky weight to the wine. Now Minuty's most popular cuvee in France apparently. House of Malt's price of £17.99 seems keen, as others including Majestic and Laithwaites.
(2024) From the Laurelwood District AVA, this is a carefully oaked Chardonnay that majors on freshness and medium-bodied, quite Chablis-like restraint - but with power too. There are chamomile notes, apple, and just a background of cedary nuttiness. In the mouth it has some weight and a bit of intensity, but it is lean and lemony overall, again little almond and honeyed nutty note just softening the firm citrus and salts drive of the finish.
(2022) What a seductively moreish Pinot this is. Pale to medium colour, there's lots of custardy, creamy oak, but matched by a depth of ripe red berries and undertow of truffle and autumnal forest floor. Spices too. In the mouth it is medium-bodied and quite creamy and rich, but retains plenty of sappy, briary character, good cherry-ripe acidity, and a very fine, firm tannin structure. A really lovely wine this from a great year, and the best Cloudy Bay Marlborough Pinot to date in my opinion. Watch the video for more information.
